3.5.1 Safe to install
The Feeds platform represents a significantly decentralized approach to social media, allowing users to retain full control over their generated data. Unlike traditional centralized social applications, Feeds employs a comprehensive, DID-based backend storage solution known as Hive, which mitigates risks associated with credential leakage and single points of failure.
By storing user data on Hive, Feeds enables access to various backend services, fostering a rich and diverse range of content. Furthermore, the architecture allows any user to operate a Hive node, thereby empowering individuals with complete ownership and control over their data.
Within Feeds, publishers can establish dedicated channels for content creation, which readers can subscribe to based on their interests. This structure facilitates targeted engagement and organized content dissemination.
As an integral Elastos application, Feeds benefits from deep integration with core Elastos technologies, including:
- Storing data in users’ Vaults across multiple Hive nodes;
- Elastos DID for sign-in, identity verification, and remote service interaction;
- Integration with Essentials for user authentication and authorization;
- Support for connecting to Essentials or Metamask wallets as delegators to execute transactions on the Elastos Smart Contract (ESC) sidechain;
- Ongoing development to support storage of application data directly on Hive nodes.
It is important to note that with this new version of Feeds, users are no longer required to deploy or run the service locally. All data is stored and retrieved from users' personal vaults within the Hive network. The Feeds team strongly recommends keeping the application updated to the latest version to ensure optimal performance and security.
The Feeds team remains committed to openness and community engagement. Enthusiasts and users are encouraged to join our dedicated Telegram group — Feed Capsule on Telegram — for questions, feedback, and discussions.
Enjoy an enhanced personal experience with Feeds!
